Butterfly Swaps

It was great to have Olga present at our February meeting. Margie, Annie and Thelma were missed. Adriana prepared a fun make and take for us. We used Stickles for the embellishment. This was a new product for some of us.
The birthday committee stayed after the meeting to finalize their plans for our Birthday Party next month. We can't wait to see what surprises they have for us. It will be great!

For our February swap, our theme was Butterflies. We had some wonderful cards as you can see.

Smooshed Acetate Demonstration

Olga did a wonderful demonstration called Smooshed Acetate for our February meeting. She recommends using the Pledge clear floor shine. Put it in a misting bottles. Mist your acetate (transparency) with the floor shine.
Then mist on a mixture of alcohol and re-inkers. You can use several colors.

You can also use a paint brush to move the colors around after misting.

Next take a piece of tissue paper, crumple it up, then smooth it back out. Lay it over the wet ink.

Use a second piece of crumpled tissue to smoosh the first tissue into the wet ink until all of the tissue has absorbed the moisture.
More smooshing to get all the tissue covered with the ink.

This is what it will look like. Now let it dry.

You can also use watercolor crayons instead of re-inkers.

Mist with the floor shine.

Here are finished samples using different colors.

January SASSSC Club Meeting

Mary was in charge of our food this time and she did a WONDERFUL job making us Omlets. Thanks Mary, they were DELICIOUS!

We had a buffet style line with Mary cooking feverishly. :)

Like always, we had a great time chatting with each other.

We ended up with 2 door prizes this month...due to a mix-up with the responsibility list on the blog. Our winners were Crystal and Olga. It's a good thing they didn't have to be present to win. We always miss our group members that can't make it.

Thanks again to everyone...it's always such a GOOD time! Till next time...stay SASSSC!

Faux Snake Skin

Delia demonstrated this unique technique. Good find Delia!

Start with a textured paper towel

Put the desired color onto the paper towel, directly with an ink pad

Put ink on both sides (you might want to wear gloves)

Coat both sides of the colored paper towel with clear embossing powder

Melt the embossing powder with a heat gun
