Scrap Ribbon Uses

Adriana did our technique this month. She showed us 2 new uses for ribbon.

The first is a great way to use up all your extra little peices. With this technique, you actually run your card or cardstock through your Zyron so that the entire surface is sticky and then you adhere all your ribbon pieces and just trim off the extra. She said that she would probably like to find some fray-ease or use some Crystal Effects next time to keep the ribbon from fraying.

Here's a picture of her scrap ribbon card

Here's a picture of the scrap ribbon card from her magazine. It almost appears that they used pinking shears to trim the ribbon at the bottom, what a cute idea.

Here's a picture of a Christmas card that Adriana made for our December 09 Swap using this technique. VERY NICE!

The second idea was to fold some ribbon and adhere it in such a way that it makes a wreath. This is easily embellished with some jewels to make it really stand out. Sorry, the picture doesn't do it justice. If you happen to come across this technique online, please share the link with us. I tried to take a copy of the article out of Adriana's magazine.

October SASSSC Meeting

We had a lot of people missing this time...but that didnt' stop us from having a great time!

Photobucket

Vegas had a good time too...she had a chair all to herself (just kidding...she always likes to sit with someone)

At our meeting we made some books. These aren't just ANY books. These books will house our Techniques for the coming year. The person doing the technique for the month will need to make a card that will fit in our book, what you do is untie your ribbon and thread the technique card in there. Then by the end of the year, we will have alot of GREAT ideas to work from.

Here's Delia showing us how to do it:

My sister Olga introduced me to stamping. She took me to a stamp convention (1995 or 1996) and I bought a bunny stamp some embossing powder and ink. By the way, that was the stamp that I used as my SASSSC Easter card earlier this year.

I like to shop, watch movies and cook (when I have time to).

I have a picture with being awarded a ribbon for first place from Tom Delay and I had the Best in Show in Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

My husband and I love to go to Las Vegas. For my 21st birthday I went with my sisters and niece. I was able to take a picture with Redd Foxx at the casino, he was just walking by. Other Vegas adventures - David Cassidy kissed my hand, Wayne Newton kissed me, and last year my sisters and I met Donny and Marie Osmond.
